What is Sublimation?
Dye sublimation has become more and more popular in digital textile printing.

Sublimation involves a printing an image on dye-sublimation paper with dye-sublimation inks. This transfer paper is then heat pressed onto your material at 200 Degrees Celsius for 45 seconds. Whilst the transfer is being pressed, the inks turn from a solid to a gas (skipping the liquid stage). The heat also affects the material too. When the material is heated the pores in the material open and this allows the sublimation gas to dye the material.

Sublimation only works on synthetic materials such as polyesters, etc. Commencing with a white fabric that is then sublimated to any colour. End result is that the colour is consistent, no fading as with print process. Colours wash and wear true to life. The process allows for a sublimated print that lasts as long as the garment.
